Guide to travel in Colombia
An experience for adventurers that includes exploration in the jungle, sharing with indigenous people, wildlife watching and lots of fun in a natural environment.
The Amazon jungle is a huge territory shared by Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia, around the Amazon River, the largest in the world. It is considered a lung of the world due to the amount of oxygen it provides and it’s inhabited by multiple indigenous cultures and countless animal and plant species, which makes it a unique destination that every adventurer should know.
The Amazon territory is flood-prone and changes depending on the time of year. In the months of December to May it rains a lot and the area floods, so you will be surrounded by water and the main transportation is the boat. From June to November it is warmer and the land dries out, so you can walk more through the territory. Both seasons are interesting and present their challenges and advantages.
On our tour we will visit the triple border area between Colombia, Peru and Brazil, based on the city of Leticia, on the banks of the Amazon River in Colombian territory. To get there you must fly from Bogotá (it is not possible to get there by land and the only flights depart from Bogotá).
This is an unforgettable adventure and highly recommended, but you have to remember that it is a jungle area, where there will be heat, mosquitoes and few comforts, so if you plan to do it, it is because you are willing to make yourself a little uncomfortable, which is the price of live a unique experience like this.
