Coffee Triangle (Multi-destination)

This beautiful region of the country, also known as the Coffee Cultural Landscape, was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 2011, and is composed by mountains covered in coffee crops, forests full of lush flora and fauna, and towns with colonial architecture. It is a territory that brings together several of the best things about Colombia: coffee, nature, colorful towns and friendly people.

It is not yet well known among international travelers and that is why it retains its authenticity. It is one of the most beautiful and surprising trips that can be made through the real Colombia, the countryside and small towns; a highly recommended destination!

This is a 5 or 6 day trip sighseeing the best of this beautiful region. It can be reached by road from Medellín (approximately 4 hours) or by plane from anywhere else to the city of Pereira.

DAY 1

Arrival from Bogotá or Medellín to a coffee farm in the municipality of Chinchina. There you take a coffee tour, learning about the process of this drink, from the plant to the cup.

Accommodation at the hotel within the hacienda.

DAY 2

Transfer to Salento (approx. 1 hour). In this beautiful town we will take a walk to explore its main park, main streets and 2 viewpoints. After a typical lunch, we move to the Cocora Valley, which is 20 minutes away from the town and is one of the most emblematic natural sites in Colombia. There is a forest of Wax Palms, the tallest palms in the world (up to 200 feet high), where you can take a tour walking or horseback riding. The atmosphere is spectacular and with luck, you can spot the Andean condor, the largest bird in the continent.

Accommodation in a hotel in Salento.

DAY 3

Transfer to Filandia (1 hour approx.). This is another of the most beautiful towns in Colombia, with quite colorful colonial architecture, where we will take a walk that includes spectacular views, excellent coffee and places that speak of its culture, such as the Vine and Basket Museum. We will also visit a wooden tower on the outskirts of the town that is a 360 viewpoint from where you can appreciate the beauty of the Coffee Cultural Landscape. We will have the opportunity to have a delicious lunch and continue to the accommodation, located in the municipality of Quimbaya, approximately one hour away.

DAY 4

This day we have the opportunity to visit a theme park. We can choose between the Park of the Coffee or the Muleteers Park.

*Park of the Coffee:

Designed by the National Federation of Coffee Growers, it is an amusement park whose central theme is coffee. It has cultural attractions, such as a tour of a coffee plantation, a coffee tasting class, a Colombian dance show, and an archaeological museum, as well as mechanical attractions such as roller coasters, among others. It is such a large park that it has internal transportation systems, such as a train and 2 cable cars. In the center it has a replica of a town where restaurants and other places of interest are found. It is located 20 minutes away from the accommodation.

This is a great option for families with children and lovers of mechanical attractions. To explore everything you need the entire day.

*The MuleteersPark:

Located next to the accommodation, this cultural park shows the customs and lifestyle of the coffee farmers of the region, through artistic presentations, such as theater, concerts and comedy shows.

It's quite fun and comical, although it requires the ability to walk on steep terrain. Only Spanish is spoken and even with many regionalisms, so it can be a little difficult to understand for visitors of some nationalities.

You can spend the entire day there or leave whenever you want as the accommodation is next to it.

DAY 5

Transfer to the Santa Rosa Hot Springs (2 hours approx.). This is a hotel that has thermal water pools, but also a cold water waterfall, to spend a relaxing time at the end of the trip.

DAY 6

Return.

This trip can be customized to do it for fewer or more days.

The accommodations have quite comfortable private rooms, a swimming pool and other amenities. You can also choose them to your liking.

Includes transportation, bilingual guide, insurance and tickets to the Cocora Valley, Museo del Canasto and Filandia viewpoint and the theme parks.
